Destroy Forgette was raised in Colorado and joined the military at sixteen on the delayed entry program. He participated in many hobbies during his youth, including rodeo, hunting, fishing, horse-riding, and sports. At some point, Destry delved into addictive behavior, and he soon found himself spinning between jails, treatment centers, and miserable situations. It took time, but eventually Destry was able to find a treatment plan that worked and has spent several years as a happy, sober father and grandfather.
Experienced in Addiction Recovery
Since realizing the change it could make in his life, Destry has spent more than 17 years working in addiction treatment centers. Even with years of sobriety behind him, he regularly attends meetings and acts as an AA Sponsor for several people. Helping someone get sober is a challenging, but highly rewarding experience, and Destry is proud to have numerous opportunities to do this at Blueprints for Recovery.
Speaking with someone who has been in successful recovery for more than a decade is very encouraging for recovering addicts in the beginning stages of addiction. While relapses are common for people in recovery, meeting and hearing from someone who has managed to turn their life around provides tangible proof of the wonderful things waiting for you in sobriety. Destry enjoys working with our patients and is always ready to lend an empathetic ear when needed.
