Joseph Kiel’s struggle with addiction started when he was just 12 years old. For more than 10 years he struggled with his alcohol addiction until he received a second chance at a treatment center in Arizona. Now, Joseph has made Prescott Arizona his home and dedicates his life to strengthening his community and helping others struggling with addiction. Joseph joined up with Blueprints for Recovery as our housing director. Given his firsthand experience with addiction, he is in a unique position to empathize with our residents and lend a compassionate ear whenever they need one.
Sharing the Joys of a Sober Lifestyle
Joseph is open about sharing his experiences with patients and the journey that brought him to sobriety. No two people have the same experience with addiction, but confiding in someone who has some idea of what you are going through can be a tremendous relief.
Since becoming sober, Joseph has been able to reignite his love of hockey, explore his passion for trying new foods, and work towards his goal of opening his own rescue shelter. Having a supportive recovery network has made a tremendous difference in his life, and he is thrilled to have the opportunity to share his experiences, strength, and hope with others looking to find their own path to recovery.
